The Eagles Fastpitch organization was represented well by their 12u Craven team at the PGF MI State Championships this past weekend.

12u Craven made it to the quarterfinals, before losing to a very tough Finesse Hool team.  Prior to that, they split their first two games on Friday, beating a good Michiana Reps team 7-1 and losing 5-4 in the last inning to Michigan Bolts Blue.  After the first day, the Eagles secured a #1 seed heading into bracket play!

The first match up on Saturday was against Texas Glory MW 07, a team that was heavily favored against the Eagles.  Due to outstanding pitching by Olivia, and very good team defense behind her, Texas Glory was held to 2 runs.  Gabby sealed the Eagles victory with a walk off single and the Eagles pulled off the upset of the tournament with a 3-2 win.  Next up, the Eagles would face Hurricanes 07, a team that upset Almont Attack earlier in the tournament.  Down 4-1 after 2 innings, the Eagles would fight back scoring 2 runs, but after a couple of base running errors, would ultimately lose 4-3.

The last game on Saturday evening would be against a very good Finesse Hool Team.  Finesse jumped out to a 6-0 lead after the first inning.  The Eagles ultimately ran out of gas, giving up 7 unearned runs on errors and losing 15-6 to Finesse.

Eagles 12u Craven played great softball all weekend long and competed against some of the best teams in the state, finishing 5th overall.    We are super proud of their accomplishments.  Great job ladies!
